Visiting Aum
Yes. Tastings at Aum Cellars are private and by appointment only — not a drop-in tasting bar. Reserve a time on Visit, then complete checkout. Pete will confirm the visit before it is on our calendar.
The Signature Estate tasting is 90 minutes. Other experiences are listed as 90 minutes or two hours when you book. We confirm the length with your reservation.
Private tastings at Aum Cellars are for up to eight guests. The Sunset Wine Tasting can accommodate up to 14 guests. Some experiences have a published minimum — for example four guests for a grape stomp or blending session. Current limits appear when you reserve.
The Aum Cellar is kept at a cool 60 degrees, and evenings at the estate can turn chilly. Bring a jacket or sweater. The vineyard and cellar are working ground — comfortable shoes help.
Write us through Contact with the name on the reservation and whether you would like to add or remove a guest. We will update the booking when we can and confirm with you.
Aum Cellars is in Napa Valley at 2844 Monticello Rd, Napa, CA 94558, with estate vineyards across Coombsville, Mt. George, Atlas Peak, and Calistoga.
A visit to Aum Cellars is a private tasting — time in the organically farmed vineyard and cellar, and a seated tasting of current and library wines. The Signature Estate tasting is 90 minutes, $85 per guest, for up to eight people. Other experiences list their own timing and price when you reserve.
Write through Contact, call (707) 266-8803, or email dakinewine@hotmail.com. We are glad to help you plan a visit, join the club, or find the right wines for your cellar.

Yes. Experiences at Aum Cellars are private and hosted by appointment, for your party rather than a standing public tasting bar. Seasonal gatherings are posted on Events when a date is set.
Public gatherings appear on Events when a date is set. After you reserve a visit and Pete confirms it, the confirmation email includes calendar details.
If Aum Cellars cannot host a reserved window, we may move you to another date or refund that payment. Guest cancellations remain non-refundable. We do not publish a separate rain-or-shine rule beyond that.
It depends on the tasting or pairing you book at Aum Cellars. Current pours are listed with each experience on Wine Tastings.

Some are. Harvest gatherings, grape stomps, blending, and farming classes follow the work of the estate and appear on Events when a date is set. Private tastings are by appointment through most of the year.
It is unguided — there is no instructor and no step-by-step lesson. Paint & Pour is offered on posted event dates, not as a drop-in visit.
They are not drop-in visits. Classes are offered on select days, timed to the work of the estate, and only when a date is posted on Events.
You may note special requests or dietary restrictions on the visit form when you reserve. We cannot promise a specific accommodation until we confirm with you.

Shipping & Delivery
Aum Cellars ships wine only where we are legally permitted. Enter a ZIP at checkout for a ground quote. Pennsylvania, Virginia, Hawaii, and Alaska are quoted by phone. A few states we cannot ship to at all.
Yes. Wine may only be delivered to someone 21 or older, and an adult signature is required. Carriers will not leave the package unattended. A business address is often more reliable if you will not be home. If a shipment cannot be delivered, return shipping and handling may apply.
Shipping states, adult signature, unopened returns, damaged shipments, and tasting refunds are all on Shipping, Returns & Refunds.
Returns & Refunds
Payments for tastings, tours, classes, pairings, and other winery experiences are non-refundable. If you cannot attend, write us as early as you can — we may reschedule when another date is open, but a reschedule is not guaranteed and does not create a refund. If Aum Cellars must cancel and cannot offer a reasonable alternative, the affected payment may be refunded.
Write us as soon as you can with your order number and photographs of the bottle, packaging, and damage. Keep the bottles and packaging until we reply. If the wine was damaged in transit, defective, or shipped incorrectly, Aum Cellars will arrange a replacement or refund, and you will not pay return shipping for that kind of problem.
For an ordinary change of mind, you pay return shipping. Original outbound shipping is not refunded. If the wine was damaged, defective, or shipped incorrectly by Aum Cellars, you will not be responsible for return shipping.
Yes. Unopened, unused bottles in original condition may be returned within 30 days of delivery or purchase, with proof of purchase. Contact Aum Cellars first and wait for return instructions before you ship anything back.
Approved wine refunds go back to the original payment method after we receive and inspect the bottles. Submitting a request does not approve a refund. Bank timing after that is outside our control.
Wine Club
Joining the Aum Cellars wine club is complimentary — you pay for the wine you receive. Allocations ship from the cellar twice a year, in March/April and September/October, in 3-, 6-, or 12-bottle allotments. Choose an allotment and pay for your first shipment at checkout. Membership auto-renews at the published shipment price unless you skip a shipment or write us to cancel.
Yes. Before each allocation we send a link so you can confirm your address or skip that shipment by the deadline on the note. Skipping does not charge you for wine you do not receive.
Use the shipment email we send before each allocation to confirm or change your address by the deadline. If you need a change at another time, write us through Contact.
The wine club has no membership fee. Wine club membership auto-renews. You will be charged the published shipment price twice a year, in spring and fall, unless you skip a shipment or write us to cancel. VIP Membership is a separate $599 annual membership you can pay online, not the same as the complimentary club.
Members receive allocations of our most limited wines, first notice of new vintages, and the allotment benefits on the Wine Club page. The 3-bottle allotment includes 1 Complimentary Signature Estate Tasting & Tour for Two. The 6-bottle allotment includes 2 Complimentary Signature Estate Tasting & Tours for Two. The 12-bottle allotment includes 3 Complimentary Signature Estate Tasting & Tours for Two. Every allotment includes 15% Off Limited Bottlings & Curated Collections. No. Wine club allotments and VIP Membership are issued to the named member and cannot be transferred, split, or used by someone else in your place. Complimentary visits are for you and a guest when you visit together — they cannot be gifted or redeemed independently.
About Aum
Aum Cellars is the Napa Valley label of Hoffmann Family Winery, founded by Pete Hoffmann — winemaker and viticulturist. The estate is a small family winery, not a high-volume tasting room.
Most Aum Cellars wines are estate grown in Napa — Coombsville, Atlas Peak, and beyond. A few reserve bottlings, including Russian River Pinot Noir and Sierra Foothills Grenache, are made from sourced fruit and are labeled that way.
The vineyard is organically farmed and dry-farmed, with a light hand in the cellar: native yeast, unfined and unfiltered wines, and no recipe winemaking. The aim is wine that tastes of the place it grew.
Organic farming means growing the vineyard without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. We rely on compost, cover crops, and beneficial insects. At Aum Cellars this is how we farm.
Estate grown means the grapes are grown, harvested, and made into wine on the same property. Most Aum Cellars wines are estate grown. A few reserve bottlings are made from sourced fruit and say so on the Wines page.
Regenerative farming goes a step beyond avoiding harm: the aim is to leave the land healthier each season — living soil, cover crops, compost, and a lighter tractor footprint. That is the work on the Aum Cellars estate.
A growing number of Napa estates farm without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. Aum Cellars farms organically — compost, cover crops, and a light hand in the vineyard.
Look for wines made from organically farmed grapes. Aum Cellars — crafted by Hoffmann Family Winery — grows the fruit here and makes the wine here.
Organic farming is better for the vineyard, and a lighter hand in the cellar means fewer additives in the glass. We farm this way for healthier land and more honest wine, not as a medical claim. Wine is still wine: enjoy it in good company, in moderation.
The best boutique vineyards are the small, family-run estates where you can walk the vines and taste wines made in tiny lots. Aum Cellars is that kind of place: organically farmed, with private visits by appointment and wines released by allocation.
Use the form on Partnerships, email dakinewine@hotmail.com, or call (707) 266-8803. Tell us who you are and the idea — a tour stop, a wine on a list, a vendor relationship, or something we have not thought of yet. We are always looking to partner.
Yes. Touring companies that bring guests to the estate are welcome. A visit to Aum is private and by appointment — a tasting that feels like time with the family, not a crowded bar. Write us with your company and how you would like to bring guests.
Yes. We want Pete's wines on lists that care about organically farmed, small-lot wine. If you already pour Aum, or would like to, write us through Partnerships and we will follow up.
We list touring companies that bring guests, vendors who support Aum, and restaurants that serve Pete's wines. Send a partnership request and we will be in touch about working together and, when it fits, adding your name here.
